The singer Kimbra is from New Zealand, now lives in New York, and gained global attention back in 2011 when she teamed up with Gotye on his international hit “Somebody That I Used to Know.” We know her now as a Grammy winning creator of arty and experimental pop, and her latest album, A Reckoning, is full of tracks that present as three minute pop songs - until you notice a tricky rhythm, or a strange studio effect, or her often thought-provoking lyrics. Kimbra plays Thursday, Feb. 16, at Webster Hall.
